Clothing Our Kids distribute clothing in the following ways:
Clothing Program: Clothing Our Kids will supply packages to school children to start the new school year off on the right foot. Each clothing package includes at least 3 outfits, underwear, socks, a pair of shoes and a seasonal coat, costing an average of $125.00 per child (excellent, donated outfits will be used when available to cut down costs).
Clothing will also be distributed to any child as needed throughout the year.
We distribute clothing through the Elementary School's counselors, or through the directors of the Sussex County Boys and Girls Clubs or YMCA.
Extra Clothing Program: Clothing Our Kids provide the school nurses with extra sweatpants, underwear, and socks. Some children do not have the option of calling home to bring in a change of clothing if they have an embarrassing accident in school. This lets the child get back to class and prevents bullying.
OUR MISSION STATEMENT:
Clothing Our Kids mission is to improve the lives of at-risk elementary school children by providing them with essential school clothing. In this economy, many children do not have appropriate school clothing and this directly impacts
*their ability to learn,
*their self-esteem, and
*their probability of regular attendance.
We cannot fix all of their problems, however our goal is to assist these children to receive an equal start in their education and assist them to become successful students and successful adults.
